Cranial Sacral Massage for ANYONE!!!

Over this last year we have gained several clients with Fibromyalgia.  After getting to know each of our clients we have observed that the most common side effect of Fibro is neck, and shoulder issues. However, there are flare ups and many other side effects (such as low energy, foggy brain a.k.a. fibro fog). Although doctors can not pin point what the cause of this frustrating illness is, we decided to do some research and assist as effectively as possible. With this in mind we signed up for Cranial Sacral Massage. Although Shannon was apprehensive at first (after reading that the pressure is merely the weight of a nickel) the following day she had confirmation! A new client named Dezaraye contacted her and asked if Hands Of Silk Massage was experienced in Cranial, and the issues that come along with it. Dez (we call her for short) explained that a previous L.M.T. in Utah performed Cranial on her and she received great results. Shannon informed Dez that she has a few clients with Fibro, and just the day prior signed up for the class. Shannon was lucky enough that Dezaraye became a loyal client prior to taking this course. Gaining Dez's trust really has allowed Hands Of Silk Massage to see-feel the difference that this incredible modality makes. We have told Dez that she was our inspiration. Although Shannon has confirmation each time that Cranial is used on ANYONE! Cranial Sacral Massage deals with soft tissues which surround the central nervous system. CST is increasingly used as a preventative for health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease and is effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain dysfunction.

Live each day as if it were your last

This year (2012) has been one crazy ride. It has been full of unexpected twists and turns! We lost a once in a life time friend (R.I.P. Pat) , also an amazing family dog, it's literally been one thing after another! I have been longing for 2012 to come to an end. Then I stop and think. Why has this been happening to me? Self, you are strong, your are capable of getting through anything. I have learned to take life in stride. Without difficulities there can not be pleasures. Life is too short and "you make your life".

I would like to thank everyone for all of the support I have been given. Also, my clients. Through my work I receive compassion for others, I remain balanced-grounded.

Why I chose being a L.M.T.

Two major reasons for my career choice was (1.) The human body fascinates me and holistic healing has always intrigued me. (2.) The flexibility of it. Being able to work around my family.

 

There is a lot more work to be done once my work day is over. There’s cleaning sheets, re-filling lotions, cleaning, confirmation reminders, taking phone calls/scheduling appointments (this is on any given day of the week). Every two years as a L.M.T. 25 hours of massage related courses MUST be taken to keep our license up. Although I strive to take more to stay current.

 

In no way shape or form is this pity party. Choosing my career path is everything I knew it would be. The spirituality and accomplishments I receive from my clients are rewarding!  I am coming up on my 6^th year as a massage therapist and hope that I can continue on this journey. The average life expectancy of a L.M.T. is 3-5 years due to how physically demanding it is. I take this into consideration and use my own advice. I work on the opposite muscle groups that I am over using w/exercise, eating healthy, and get a massage at least every two weeks.

 

I understand that massages come at price. That’s way we do our best to be fair to everyone! I make it a point to check out my competition every year, and re-evaluate if need be. Think of it this way this is natural healing. You do not have to pump foreign substances into your body!
